Time to start blogging again!

Well, it's finally time that I started blogging properly. I doubt it'll be on a very, very regular basis. But I will definitely do my best.

Following on from my last post at the beginning of last year, 2012 was indeed an amazing year and possibly the best ever so far! And that's really saying something. Highlights included feeding a range of big cats for the first time and meeting other animals, picking up lions from Heathrow, getting the WHF on TV in 211 countries, and learning the art of social media. Working at Paradise Wildlife Park really has been better than I could have hoped and the team there are just phenomenal. It's pretty humbling being a part of this team, and I never take it for granted. Cultural Vibes 2012 was also incredible and I finally got to enjoy it for once! I moved into an awesome new place as well, which I love and the hunt is on to find someone to share it with.

2013 has possibly been even better than that so far. With trips to Iceland, Bulgaria and finally visiting America by going to San Francisco. Working at Paradise has been as good as ever, and with brilliant weather, it's been a good year for the park. I've just been elected to the Communications and Development Committee for BIAZA so I'm really excited about getting involved at a higher level in the zoo community. I've also started learning Ceroc modern jive dancing, and that's been brilliant fun, good exercise and widened my social circle no end.

So, that's a quick summary of what's happened so far. I'll no doubt elaborate on a lot of that when I've not got much else to talk about!

Today, we are in Manchester at Salford City Reds stadium to demo Ginicam at a press conference for the rugby team. It's a brave gamble to demo the technology in this situation, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. The aim is to have a video conference with a new player for the team who's currently about as far away as he possibly could be, in Australia. I'm writing this from the car in the car park at the stadium, with Emily and Tom frantically trying to establish a test connection. We've got the doors closed and the air conditioning on, because outside, it smells like someone's covered a poo in burnt hair.

Ok, that'll do for now. Follow my blog for interesting zoo news, cool photography stuff and handy social media tips.

Until next time, thanks for reading,
