Excited about rugby? Moi?
I've just seen a very rousing speech by Dr. Marwan Koukash, new owner of the Salford Red Devils and I'm feeling very inspired. Until yesterday, I had no idea the team even existed. I'm not a rugby fan and have hardly ever watched a game. But SRD have just been brought back from the brink by this wealthy businessman, and are about to be catapulted to the big time. The huge investment that Marwan has put in, has meant that the team have been able to buy 13 top flight players from the best clubs around the world. The energy and excitement here is tangible, and to listen to Dr. Koukash describe his dream is really quite something. The atmosphere in the room was electric with over 40 journalists and film crews, and 250 dedicated fans.
